sixth of december twenty twelve
December 5, 2012
i have the most original title ever, no?

i am feeling very sucky now, it's already the sixth of december?! what is time omg.

anyway i have given up on typing my adventures in beijng, i'll just do it some other day.

so today helpful me went to do CIP with all my silly friends. and mel wore an owl shirt with an owl bag. so yeah, the old people there really look very sad. they really sit there and do nothing all day. like really nothing. on second thought, maybe my dream of sitting at home all day and do nothing is not applicable anymore.

oh and with my "very good" dialect, i managed to ask the old people there a lot of dumb questions. eg.-do you like to watch tv? do you watch 爱? are the nurses here nice? i honestly hope with all my life that the nurses there didn't understand me, if not the next time i go back they might just chase me out or throw me into the koi pond they have there. one question, do you think the water in the koi pond tastes like the bubble tea koi? #confused

oh there was this old lady who looked super lonely! she was telling us how filial her kids were and i was honestly thinking, if your kids are filial, why would they put you here? this is not a very nice place to live in! okay lah, technically she did explain to us that it's because her children can't take care of her and stuff, but still! poor old people, i hope i don't grow old to become a sad old person. :(

attempted to be fit and decided to drag my sisters down to play Frisbee with me, but we eventually spent all our time picking up the Frisbee and searching for it inside the bush rather than playing with it. Either way, it was quite fun, and well at least i moved!

i am craving my fishball noodles so bad omg. the nine oclock show is bad for you! it is ridiculous and they keep talking about fishball noodles i really feel like eating it now! and it's not just tonight, it's every night! dammit man.

just a simple reminder for everyone, please do more dumb things when you're young. because if you don't, you'll be a sad old person when you grow old because you will have nothing to laugh at.

still very confused after talking to clarissa today because she threw me many deep questions about life. what do you do if you are about to kiss your boyfriend and you suddenly wanna fart or burp/ you mistook his hand for a fly on your face and smacked it? also, what if you have sweaty palms? will you hand actually slip out of his hand when you hold it or something?

anyone who can answer those questions, please email me. i will really be very thankful. spread the joy everyone, it's almost christmas! :>

smtown
December 2, 2012
okay while im still semi awake i shall continue on the daily happenings of my life.

so first friday after i came back from beijing, i decided to be a cheapskate fangirl and went to the helix bridge to watch smtown. so my smart ass kiasu sister made me head down to marina bay with her at like noon when the concert was gonna start at 6.30pm. if you are any normal human, you will be able to calculate and realise that we went there six and a half hours in advance. -.-

so the both of us headed down like cheapskate kiasu aunties and booked the best position we could find on the helix bridge. i swear we looked exactly like hobos and all the tourists who were there were like what the heck are these kiasu people doing here. well, we managed to watch boa do her rehearsal but because she was so small from where we were, we absolutely had no idea which one was her.

so yeah we sat there and guess what, at around 3pm it started raining. yay \o/ started with a drizzle so our mini umbrella managed to keep us dry for no longer than 15 minutes. after a while it started raining we were like dammit. oh well at least the rain stopped. started raining at like 4pm again and it was really raining cats and dogs! -.- so we all went to hide in different shopping malls. we wanted to get ponchos but guess what, they're sold out everywhere! don't know to laugh or to cry. maybe i should've walked up to the shop keeper and shake her hand, congratulate her for having such great business. when we went back to the helix bridge after the rain stopped, the place we were originally at was gone cos people were all there already. cries. but aunty me managed to squeeze ourselves some space and yeah we stayed there for the rest of the night. jaiem joint us shortly after and yeah we waited patiently for the concert to start.

we were watching the concert from the screen most of the time and jaime would scream at the screen everytime it goes blank! xD haha baime cracks me up! i am positive taemin is a cute little thing. and eunhyuk is darn cool. it started raining at the last few performances and i literally wanted to cry! all the good performances were all at the end! D: oh but the people around us were quite friendly and helped us hold onto our umbrellas! :> honestly the umbrellas were of not much help and the wind was so strong our umbrellas were gonna fly away and we were shivering like mad women on the bridge. went home drenched but thankfully we managed to catch the last train home! :D btw, it pays to be kiasu because when the concert started, the bridge became like 3 times more crowded and there were many people behind us! >: glad that we were at the front!

super happening night! \o/ standing there for 4 hours was quite worth it after all! :)

(still a little confused why SM will agree to hold their concert at the floating platform! but then again im not complaining because cheapo people like me get to watch a free concert!)

bejing gcp 2012 part 1
long time no see folks!

i should be doing my math worksheet now but i wanna exercise (my fingers) so here i am updating my blog. i should be ashamed of myself because i wanted to update immediately after im back from beijing but because im such a lazy worm i cannot even bring myself to do anything.

so agenda of today's blog post will be about how you can dance like a butterfly and knock your head on the wall but not die.

okay maybe not. but if you wanna knock your head on the wall and not die, just put tofu all over the wall. i haven't really tried but i think it helps idk.

okay, the real agenda for today's post: beijing trip. :-)

so yeah beijing trip. yeah 14 days long. honestly i thought it was gonna be a very long trip but no. the moment i get used to living there, it's time to come back. very sad, i miss that place badly. had the time of my life there with my friends, so fun! :D we really did a lot of dumb things. the weather's there really good and the 2nd night we were there, we got complained cos we were talking too loudly in the room! okay shall go from day to day.

(i am ultra distracted and im looking through my fb news feed from time to time and it's making me feel very worried for life)

(and hold on i need to grab my GCP booklet to refer to where we went and what we did)

day 1: plane ride! :D so i was sitting next to clara in the plane and next to clara was yuanzhen. cheers to my ship. and being an annoying passenger, i think i pissed all the air stewardesses off. clara and i have extremely short attention spans so we ended up learning korean. and i gave up after a while so we asked for a colouring book. mature kids. i am quite sure i got judged but it's okay, we had fun. and well, i managed to watch step up revolution. it's quite a good show and the great dancers in there make me feel very sad and depressed. so we headed off to the school dorm after that and the chefs there prepared yummy dinner for us. they cook really good food! :) so yeah, that's my first day in beijing for you. and i saw snow for the very first time! no not experience snow but just saw snow on the ground because the snow stopped before we landed. oh and there was this super friendly lady at the immigration who kept asking me where we came from and what not. oh and hazel and i moved our beds because we are that mafan. sad story: no wifi in the room! D:

day 2: omg thank god i took photos so now im just gonna refer back to them all to remember what i did there. so monday morning, we got a tour around school! :) bazhong's a really beautiful school and they have really cool facilities there- swimming pool, super high class science labs, etc. so yeah we toured the school and the most memorable place will probably be the field! someone built a snowman there and since i can't fulfill my wish of building a snow man i just had to take a photo with the one there. so yeah we were taking a lot of photos and i think the teacher got kinda impatient cos we had to tour other places around the school. anyway before i continue ranting here's a photo of us on the field:

oh and we saw some of the science projects the students did and apparently that can help them gain points when the apply for uni in beijing? how come singapore don't have this kind of system boohoo. the corridors in the school look like those in korean dramas! i don't have a good photo of it so too bad. so morning we had school tour and had our lunch at 11am. beijing has very different meal times compared to singapore. we eat lunch there at 11am and dinner at 5pm. after lunch we had to attend this super boring bio lecture IN CHINESE. i swear i couldn't understand a single thing and i was falling asleep. and then we got the chance to do some high class bio experiment and got to wear cool lab coats. it was really quite cool but because im so sucky i think i wasted a lot of their equipment and my experiment probably got contaminated anyway. this is what it's supposed to look like if it's not contaminated btw:
(quite professional looking right!)
so yeah had dinner at 5pm. i think we went out to parksons supermarket at night, im not sure i forgot. anyway parksons is this shopping mall near our dorm and there's a supermarket at the basement so we go there to get our supply of pocky! china sells all different flavours of pocky! and i managed to facetime my sisters at night, before going to bed.

day 3: first few days of the trip's pretty much slack everyday. we had some 水墨画 lessons in the morning. the super artistic me (yeah i wish) drew something super awful. but the teacher was nice so he didn't say anything insulting. and then we had time to plan for alice day before heading off for lunch. managed to find some time after lunch to wonder around the school a little so we went to the field and did stupid things there. we do stupid things everywhere we go. and we tried jump shots and that was where esther's gangnam style shot came from! and shuli and becca got called 美女s by the guys playing football at the field! we had lessons about china's places of interest by a geog teacher from their school after that and then dinner! after dinner yanglaoshi agreed to bring us around for a walk so we went to nearby shopping malls and streets. oh and we went to this super high class shopping mall which sells all kinds of branded stuff and we were all literally like "why the heck are we here?" managed to walk over to 西单after that and we went over to this 韩国城 place. quite a lot of things to buy there but the shop keepers there are too scary. walked quite a distance back to the dorm after that. tired legs. :(

(this is getting a bit tiring and im not even there omg)

day 4: probably one of the slackest days. we had 文化课 in the morning and it was so boring!! D: they were talking about the history of beijing and all, i was blanking out after a while. so after that we went to some 批发市场to shop there. not much to get there. but i managed to get some cheapo notebooks and pens there. oh and a neck pillow which only cost me S$4 so yeah, quite satisfied. scary hazel got a hulk hand! D: she had a lot of problems packing it in after that LOL. had a lot of time at night and we were not allowed to go out anymore hazel and i explored the school with vanessa and rebecca. haha we took a lot of zipais at the field. (the school's really our favourite place in school man). the sky in china turns dark super early!! hazel and i managed to facetime sueyu (who was in shanghai) in the night and yeah happy day for everyone! :)

day 5: we finally went to school and met our buddies. our buddies are super nice but hazel's buddy's sometimes a bit creepy. oh and the nice school principal decided that our rooms are too dry so he got us a plant in every room. nice principal. :) so yeah roamed the school at night again and went back to the field. i think we played "what time is it mr wolf" and we played a prank on rebecca! HAHAH fun times!

day 6: ALICE DAY \o/ funnest day of the trip. anyway special thanks to the super nice librarian who really helped us! so yeah, we decided to be ultra adventurous and went all the way to 香山and 清华大学. the train was quite packed when we left and we were literally like squashed pancakes. you don't need to hold onto anything also won't fall one. and their train has this mini TV at the side, i guess it's to keep lame people like me entertained. our journey there was quite smooth and we didn't leave anyone behind. :) 香山 is a beautiful place, it was quite crowded but because we didn't take the main route up it wasn't as crowded. oh and yuanzhen played the guzheng there! :D haha perfect atmosphere for a guzheng performance. oh and apparently we look like koreans! we got mistaken for koreans (and people from all different parts of the world)! saw some red leaves there:
(hehe one of my favourite photos of the trip)

did a lot of crazy things like sing 山歌while climbing! :D (told ya we do stupid things everywhere we go!) we stayed there till like 12? ate 冰糖葫芦before we left! took us quite a while to find the bus interchange but we managed to eventually because we're cool like that. and off we go to 清华大学!
best experience ever. so we managed to find our way there and guess what, visitors are not allowed inside, yay! scary looking guards were at the main gate and stopping everyone who attempts to go in. apparently you'll need to present some card to be allowed inside and obviously we do not have it. then some creepy uncle and aunty came up to us and told us that they can sneak us in if we pay 10 bucks each. and obviously we are bright kids who were not dumb enough to believe them. and because we haven't eaten lunch, we tried walking around to find food. sorry but all the shops there looked really bad and the closest fast food restaurant was inside 清华! D: problematic! desperate us became smarter and tried sneaking in again. before i continue, thank you sg government for training us to be bilingual kids! so smart us came up with a smart plan. we were gonna pretend we can't speak chinese at all and when the guards ask us to present cards, we're gonna pretend we don't understand what they're talking about. yeah it worked and we got in! hazel and vanessa tried first. while the rest of us waited patiently across the road. when the guard stopped them our hearts literally fell to rock bottom, and then the next moment we saw them strolling in omg. so yeah the rest of us tried and i went in rebecca. funniest thing ever! i think the guard got pissed off with us after a while and his partner guard was just like "新加坡来的" so yeah they kinda figured out our plan but let us in anyway cos we looked too innocent! :D
it's like a totally different place inside! and we were all super fascinated by everything inside! and of course we were not gonna leave the place without getting souvenirs!
took us a super long time to find this place so i just had to snap a photo to show you we made it there! everyone was giving us different directions it wasn't even funny anymore! poor us didn't had time for lunch so we practically skipped lunch for that day. haha how ironic, we even wanted to focus on food for our alice day! xD yeah we reached back a little late but we weren't the latest group so kudos to us! :> oh and we went to parksons to get our supply of pocky again before heading back to the dorm. went back dead tired but really satisfied and happy! :D just fyi, 清华's toilet's not exactly as impressive as the school itself.

day 7: start of tour! we headed to some 博物馆 in the morning. the museum's honestly quite boring! :( the rest of the day was spent at 圆明园 and 颐和园. sad thing: it was pouring and it made the whole day gloomy and sad! :( had some fun walking under the rain and getting lost with juneyu at 圆明园 though. :) 颐和园's quite a nice place but because it was raining we only stayed for a little while! :<

day 8 onwards will happen in the next blog post. honestly i don't even think anyone will bother reading all my crap but i guess it's more like something for me to note down all the happenings in beijing so maybe 80 years down the road, when i become an old ah ma, i can read what i wrote right here and miss all my friends.

November 3, 2012
hi friends, it's late but im determined to write a post before i go to bed.

flying off to beijing tomorrow for 2 weeks. yeah doesn't sound long but it's relatively long to me. gonna miss my family like crazy! yeah but nonetheless i still hope to have fun there! i heard it'll be snowing so my aim for this beijing trip would be to make a snowman, take a photo with it and post it on instagram. urgh china has no facebook and twitter so i shall survive on instagram. yes, i am that sad.

MUST KEEP WARM. i hope i don't freeze in the midst of making my snowman.

anyway my songs are not downloading and i give up so i shall go to bed now and wake up at 5.15. morning flight tomorrow! early morning! take care and happy holidays! i'll be back in 2 weeks! :)

October 27, 2012
it's sunday in 24 minutes and i'm here rolling around. ok not really rolling around cos im sitting on the sofa with a laptop on my lap and typing away. some tiger beer advertisement is showing on tv and my phone is next to me. the advertisement is not in english btw. ok why am i doing this.

anyway this week has been horrible. monday was dramafest, tuesday to thursday was results collection and we had some family gathering bbq thing on friday. interesting week, no? no.

results were a great disappointment. actually not all, just bio and physics. no no don't misunderstand and think i did super well for the rest, i'm just glad i didn't do as badly as BT2.  i was super glad i finally got my A1 for IM2 until some teacher told us it was a super easy paper... bio and chem, i just don't wanna talk about it, major disappointment. then again, no brooding for too long, just work harder next year. sec 4 will just be school school school all the way, oh the joy. if MSG's going down to 2.5, i think i'll shoot myself halfway through the year. school raises the standard and expect us to be smarter just like that.

anyway this weekends has been spent on cca and gcp shopping. flying off next week and there's so many things to get!! time really flies omg. i think we are half crazy we headed down to town at 8.30 when shops close at 9.30. more gcp shopping tomorrow but i just wanna sleep. cries.

oh but this week made me realise how cool NYAV truly is. oh and there's NY5 shirt printing next week as well. next week's gonna be mad busy. last week in singapore and im rushing through everything. there's dramafest, beach clean up, dental appointment and then gcp. urgh fly me to china asap please, escape from reality for a while.

oh and family bbq was kinda awkward but fun. cousin brought his girlfriend and sorry but i was kinda grossed out. they were PDA-ing along the sea and i was like what ok go away i don't wanna see that, where's my food just let me eat good bbq food. oh and we also 放天灯! haha mini ones before we visit taiwan to see the real and nicer ones! :D life's actually quite interesting!

photo time:
(poop it doesn't wanna load)

(heart's a bit screwed up but oh wells)

managed to catch the sunset after idk how long.

grandpa and me. and i am being greedy eating meat.

our very first successful 天灯

come on fly fly fly

hoho finally starting to fly! :D

this is the ultra cute boy i met at the bbq and he entertained me the entire night! :)

the sea's a beautiful place hehehehe.

had the most embarrassing and weirdest dream ever yesterday night. no more weird dreams for me please, my heart cannot take it. just let me sleep in peace yeah? thanks. pissed off when i wake up forgetting half of what happened in my dreams.

my photos are still not loading im gonna scream.

anyway last week of sec 3 next week and i feel like i just got shot by a bullet reminding me that im growing up too quickly. time's all spent on school and all the crap i feel like i'm do not have enough time to sit down, sort out my thoughts and actually spend time with more people. come someone give me 48 hours a day or something, then i'll have more time for everything under the sun.

beijing's gonna be fun, i think i deserve something nice after working hard for a year (although the results might not have turned out as well). i tried, i deserve something. hahaha remember how i told myself if i ever pass sec 3 i'll be the happiest girl ever.

this year has been crazy. one day i'll find time to sit and think.

ok i'm getting tired- almost time to sleep. goodnight!
